Civilink - Connecting Borders through e-CODEX Judicial Training
JUST-2024-JTRA
Project ID: 101189956

The project „CiviLink: Connecting Borders through e-CODEX Judicial Training” is implemented by a consortium and associated partners, consisting of national training institutions responsible for training judges and court staff in six EU Member States: Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain, and it is led by the National Institute of Magistracy (NIM). The European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) supports the project as associated partner.

The project started on January 6, 2025 and has a duration of 23 months, during which the participants will engage in a series of diverse activities aimed at facilitating the exchange of best practices and strengthening professional connections.

The training programme within this project is addressed to over 260 judges and court clerks involved in the resolution of European civil disputes. In this respect, six transnational and interprofessional seminars will be organized, each preceded by an introductory webinar, supported by tutorials and podcasts, and concluding with a conference where the results and knowledge gained will be disseminated.

A point of interest for the National School of Clerks is the selection of 41 Romanian court clerks who will actively participate in the project through seminars organized in European capitals such as Bucharest, Barcelona, Sofia, and Lisbon. They will make an essential contribution to the exchange of experience and to the expansion and strengthening of professional networks.

Particular focus will be placed on Regulations (EU) 2020/1783 and 2020/1784 and on the complexities of e-CODEX, including from the perspective of data protection standards in the European Union.
The project reflects a strong commitment to the effective application of EU legislation and to adapting to new technologies, contributing to the improvement of digital skills and the streamlining of judicial procedures. This initiative not only addresses current training needs but is also fully aligned with the EU’s priorities regarding digitalization in the field of justice and the protection of fundamental rights, marking progress toward a justice system adapted to the digital age.
